Everything looks great for Baby September '09. Due date is Sept. 15 as best I understand it. It was so wonderful to see the baby on the ultrasound. We could see the heart beating strongly and regularly. I didn't know I would be having an ultrasound today so Brad and Cora stayed home. I was so sad that Brad and Cora would miss it when they said they'd be doing the ultrasound! The next one is April 22 so we'll make sure they are there for that one.
I've been feeling super tired and sluggish, hungry often but with a "yucky" feeling in my stomach. I don't throw up or feel queasy very often and can eat whatever, but just feel yucky. I don't know how else to describe it. Almost like I have a bad taste in my mouth all the time.
Here's a cute story about Cora: This morning I was watching another little girl named Ellie. She is the same age as Cora. At one point I said to the girls that we were going to go play outside. Cora perked up and went to look for her coat but while I was getting some things ready Ellie started crying. I didn't know why she was crying and as I was asking her what was wrong Cora came over and stood right next to her. She put her arm around Ellie's back in a gentle, comforting friend-like way with a concerned look on her face. Everything about her body language said "Why are you sad, friend? Everything is OK. I'm here for you." It was so sweet and unsolicited I almost started crying, myself!
I think I figured out that Ellie either thought we were going outside with out her or that she needed to find her special blanket before going out. Once we found "itty-bitty" she calmed right down. Sweety!
Unfortunately, Cora isn't always this sweet with all of her friends. I often feel like I spend a lot of time breaking up fights over toys when Cora is with other friends. Ellie and Cora play super well together - I think because Ellie is a youngest child with two older siblings. Most of Cora's other playmates are oldest/only children, like she is. Perhaps there is something to the "birth order" philosophy?
Oh I can totally picture Cora doing that; how precious!
ReplyDeleteYay for pictures of baby!! They turned out REALLY good, too! 9 weeks and all those limbs are already more than "arm and leg buds" Hope you feel better soon!
cute little baby!! I wonder if it's a boy or a girl!?!?!? Exciting!
ReplyDeleteHello Kris,
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. That is no fun! The pictures are great. It is truly amazing what they can do with technology now days. As for the birth order philosophy I believe there is a lot to it. I recommend "The Birth Order Book" by Dr. Kevin Leman. He is a Christian Psycologist and is recommended by Focus on the Family and we found his book very amazing and surprisingly accurate.
Yup, that birth order stuff can be frighteningly accurate! Do you feel completely different then when you were pregnant with Cora? Have any inklings or premonitions to if it's a boy or girl?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Can't wait to see you all in person!
ReplyDeleteLove it, love it! And love you guys :) -Brittany R.
