"Trust and thankfulness will get you safely through this day. Trust protects you from worrying and obsessing. Thankfulness keeps you from criticizing and complaining: those "sister sins" that so easily entangle you. Keeping your eyes on Me is the same thing as trusting Me. It is a free choice that you must make thousands of times daily. The more you choose to trust Me, the easier it becomes. Thought patterns of trust become etched into your brain. Relegate troubles to the periphery of your mind, so that I can be central in your thoughts. Thus you focus on Me, entrusting your concerns into My care." From
Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young, for February 21.
A good reminder to be consciously thankful. Today I am thankful for:
#104. homemade play dough
#105. the joy of the old becoming new - Brad found old-style Tonka trucks at The Habitat Restore for a few dollars. Both kids are loving them!
#106. our warm and cozy home during the recent cold and windy nights
#107. a new opportunity to study godly womanhood with some great ladies
#108. freedom in our country as so many others are fighting for theirs
#109. health, because it feels so nice!
#110. sickness - because it makes us slow down and care for each other tenderly
