A very heavy basket full of wet laundry, hauled up two sets of stairs and across the parking lot.
Wet socks, painstakingly laid out like a jigsaw puzzle on a sweater thing. (And then being stepped on and messed up!)
Wet shirts and pants hung on hangers from the shower curtain.
Everything else, carefully maneuvered to fit on the drying rack in the bathtub.
All with a fan blowing on them for a solid 12 hours before it's dry.
All this to save 75 cents?
Is it worth it?

We have a washer and dryer in our apartment right now and I'm so thankful for that. But we are realizing our new apartment in Lansing might not, so I would totally contemplate doing something like this! But I sometimes prefer to air dry most of my pants and shirts anyway. Only a few more weeks and it will be warm enough to air dry it outside again!
ReplyDeleteHa! I loved this post, Kristin. I've been there, done that! Now, I definitely do what I can to hang dry outside when the weather's nice, but I've given in and say it's worth the 75 cents! If we have the same kind of coin dryers, I'll have to share a tip with you that was passed on to me, which can save a quarter or two, here and there. Remind me next time we're together. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it's normally considered frugality, unless you are paying utilities on that fan blowing 12 hours. But since you are preggo, i deem this insanity! Pay the 75 cents. :) Love you! Oh, and I have next week Tuesday - April 10th open. Come to Holland. drop off your kids w/ me. Go chill by yourself or w/ your mom/sis. :)
