2 month check-up

We made our second visit to the doctor yesterday. I just have to say that I am so thankful for our doc. He is "just" a family physician, and I basically picked his name randomly from a list of doctors in our plan. I basically liked the sound of his name and decided to put him as our PCP when we got here. We never needed his services until Cora was born and so had never met him till a few weeks before she arrived. But he is wonderful for us! After having a poor experience in CA with our PCP this is a welcomed joy.

Anyway, Cora is now 10 lbs 6 oz which is the 50th percentile for weight at her age, and she's 23 inches long which is the 75th percentile. Her head measured 35 cm around, which is the 80th percentile - I guess she's gotten a "big head" from all the doting and attention she gets everywhere she goes! :)

She also received her first round of immunizations - one shot in the right leg and two in the left. At the first poke she almost didn't respond...and just as I thought "Maybe she won't even cry" her face turned redder than a little tomatoe and she screamed like we've never heard before. Oh - she has tears now! How sad it is to see little teardrops coming from her eyes!

Thankfully, she was released with a clean bill of health, a dose of tylenol and two bandaids. See you in 2 more months, doc!

  1. I'll bet it was just as hard for you to watch as for her to get the shots!! I'm glad your PCP is great, too! Good news! Thanks for the update Kris!

  2. It is hard to watch them get the shots. It is even more difficult when they are a little older and know they are going to get them. Then they look to you to help them escape them and you make them get them, pain and all. Fortunately by the time they are older yet they begin to understand and learn to be brave out it. I hope you are writing all that technical stuff down, like weight, height, etc. because you won't remember it in a few years or after your second child. I am glad to hear that she is doing well. We love seeing the pictures. I still have to figure out how to put those in a post. Thanks for the news.
