Giggles

Cora is at such a fun age right now! She smiles easily, responds to us, mimicks our facial expressions (after studying our faces intently), and coos back and forth with us like its a real coversation. She is so interactive! She also does well on her own, too. She likes to be in her swing watching what's going on in the room, or lying on the floor "talking" to whatever object catches her attention. I think she's starting to outgrow her evening fussy time. It used to be that she was fussy and irritable every evening from about 6:30 till bedtime. The only solace was knowing that once she fell asleep (around 10:30 or 11) we wouldn't hear from her till about 7 am. She's always been pretty good about sleeping and even falling asleep - what a blessing!

The latest development is GIGGLES! Wednesday she gave Brad a couple giggles inbetween her hiccups. She sounded so funny I doubted if they really were giggles. Then Thursday she gave another one! Just one adorable little giggle, but I knew it was for real and not just us wanting it to be a giggle! So fun!

Sunday night we drove to the cabin - left at 10:30 pm. Cora slept the whole way which made the trip go faster than if we had had to stop to feed her. Thankfully the road to the cabin was clear of snow so we were able to drive straight up unlike last time. I was not excited about the possibility of hiking in with Cora and all our stuff at 2 am, so I was relieved when there was no problem driving in. We have this great little travel bed made by Snuggli that is perfect for a one or two night trip at this age. It folds up to carry like a bag with pockets on the outside that hold enough diapers for a few days and clothes, wipes, burp clothes and a blanket or two. Then it opens up and works as a bed. It's great at this stage because she doesn't need anything more and it's very small and portable.
