More phrases

(Cora is helping Daddy clean the mud off the Tahoe.)

"The trees are blowing me" - I think Cora thinks that the trees make the wind because they blow with the wind, so when it's windy she has been saying this.

"Angels watch me in my bed" - after reciting the "Now I lay me" prayer at bedtime.

"Jesus lives in my heart". I'm not sure who or when this idea was introduced to her, but it sure is sweet to hear!

"Oh my world" - I think she means to say "Oh my word"...I don't have any idea where she picked that up from. I never say that, really.

She also knows that Daddy's name is Brad, but if you ask her Mommy's name she says "Mama" with a look on her face and tone of voice that says "I know this one, you can't fool me!"

"Hey, I know what to do" and then she proceeds to follow through on a brilliant two-year-old's scheme for fun.

And just this weekend a new one is "How about..." and she suggests either something to eat or something to do. I guess I say this sort of thing a lot, too.

She takes her work seriously! And she has really good aim with a hose! I one time recently let her spray me with the hose and I couldn't believe how good she was at aiming it at me as I ran (and maybe screamed - it was very cold water, and a lot of fun) around the yard!

  1. I think it's really funny that kids say that Mama's name is "Mama" and Daddy's name is_________. It's because kids are with their moms when they are talking with their friends about their husbands and referring to them by name, but kids are rarely with their dads when they would be discussing their wives while referring to them by name...Mainly because men don't discuss things like that...but anyway...interesting to consider.
